How Does Six Month Smiles Work?
Six Month Smiles works on a similar premise as traditional braces. We use brackets and wires to correct crooked teeth. Your teeth are also moved at a similar pace. However, the treatment only focuses on the teeth that are visible when you smile, rather than all of them. Another major difference between Six Month Smiles and traditional braces is that Six Month Smiles uses tooth-colored brackets and wires, enabling your treatment to be more discreet.
Before receiving your Six Month Smiles, we first perform a thorough exam of your mouth. Along with a visual inspection, we will also take X-rays and impressions. This exam is meant to determine whether or not the Six Month Smiles treatment is right for your needs. After determining that you are a candidate, we then determine bracket placement and cement them into place on your teeth. Then we place the wire. After your Six Month Smiles has been placed, we will schedule monthly follow-up visits with you to monitor your progress and make minor adjustments. After six months, when your teeth are in perfect alignment, we remove the brackets and wires, and you leave with a beautiful, brand new smile. Before you leave, we will also provide you with a retainer, which will help you to maintain the results of your treatment.
